Dry Trash Removal

Descon Dry Trash Removal Systems remove loose debris within shells or crates including paper, caps, labels and other foreign materials prior to washing or packing.

Horizontal Format

  • Friction top chain conveyor feed to ensure no slip indexing through the tip up position.
  • Close connected to shell washer or stand-alone.

Vertical Format

  • Suited to applications where shells are supplied at a high level and discharged at production level.
  • Stainless steel frame and chute construction.

Washing Process

  • Thoroughly washes and rinses plastic shells prior to delivery to the packaging area.
  • Delivery of shells by stainless steel flighted drag chain.
  • Large diameter rails for shells positioning prior to and through washer.
  • High pressure heated water spray from a steam heat exchanger.
  • Detergent injection into the wash zone for maximum cleaning and bacteria kill.
  • Fresh cold water injection for water make-up.

Clean Design Principles

  • Sloped floors facilitate drain and easy cleaning.
  • Flushing headers for full contact of internal components to avoid algae or bacterial growth.

Shell Dryer

Descon Shell Dryers recirculate air through moisture eliminators, keeping the air dry and hot. Air knives are strategically located to provide the very best drying possible. Up to 99% dryness is obtainable.

Shell Drying

  • Controlled conveying of shells via stainless-steel flighted drag chain.
