We are currently looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our team in our Newmarket office. Reporting to and under the direction of the Project Manager Team Lead, the Junior PM will:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be responsible for ALL project-related details and ensure they are completed to the customer’s satisfaction. Includes keeping accurate deficiency lists, internal/external sign-off documentation, change order preparation, effective communication, etc.
  • Utilize organizational tools such as Microsoft Project and Excel to skillfully manage multiple projects (including scheduling, budgeting and project status reporting) up to, and including, final customer sign-off.
  • Raise the level of internal and external communication through the use of email, Microsoft Teams, internal meetings, documentation, conference calls, etc.
  • Use your working knowledge of AutoCAD/SolidWorks to update or search for project-relevant information. Be an expert on the layout details of each assigned project.
  • Be available by email/phone during evenings and weekends on an as-needed basis to ensure the success of projects and site service.
  • Understand contractual obligations related to projects and site services to ensure accuracy of customer billing.

The Sales Engineer is a challenging senior career opportunity in our growing company that is tasked with the very important role of executing plant layout design options that provide unique and industry-leading solutions to clients. The incumbent is a self-starter, who is motivated to become a key contributor that enjoys job autonomy and remote work capabilities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for creating conceptual sales layout proposal drawings for automated packaging lines.
  • Develop client relationships and clearly articulate our technical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with all engineering departments to find solutions to complex issues as they arise.
  • Be able to organize and clearly document project critical information and support documentation (i.e. cross-sections, products, speeds, etc.).
  • Actively participate in presentations on design/scope changes with clients.
  • Review customer bid package and specifications to ensure supply requirements.
  • When applicable, on-site verification of dimensions and detail may be required.


  • Expertise in the beverage or food packaging industry in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Estimating, Equipment Sourcing, Sales, Design.
  • Related industry or plant layout design experience using AutoCAD (or equivalent cad software).
  • Must be personable and have strong communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience designing or sourcing industrial mezzanines or equipment would be beneficial.


  • Competently read and interpret electrical schematics, technical datasheets, cable schedules, and Bills of Materials.
  • Competently read and interpret mechanical drawings, layout specifications for fabrication and modifications on metal, plastic, and fiberglass enclosures.
  • Mechanical assembly of Panels and sub-assemblies – including layout, drilling, tapping, cut-outs, and labeling a multitude of junction boxes and industrial machine control panels. Modify electrical enclosures to specification.
  • Use tools to fabricate and wire panels including measuring tools, drills, taps, screwdrivers, band saws, jigsaw, etc.,
  • Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures with proper labels including fuses, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, contactors, terminals, input/output devices, VFD’s, PLC’s, pilot lights, pushbuttons, selector switches, and operator interface devices and or all related industrial control devices.
  • Determine wire routing, cut lengths, and insulation strip lengths. Methodically and meticulously route wires, and interconnect electrical components as per schematic, following strict methods and procedures.
  • Select correct wire type, gauge, color based upon drawings and documentation.
  • Wiring of 120VAC/480VAC-3P/600VAC-3P/24VDC electrical components and cable assemblies as per application US and Canadian Electrical codes and standards.
  • Route, bend, cut, and form wire cable and conduit (EMT, Rigid, liquid-tight) to connect panels and subassemblies.
  • Electrical installation of control panels and related equipment including cables, harnesses, and motors on stand-alone machines and conveyor lines. Machine power-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure proper protective equipment is always worn and proper tools are used based on the task. Maintain a safe and tidy work area. Follow safety rules and create a safe culture.
  • Perform quality inspections for wiring accuracy, correct component selection. Basic electrical/controls troubleshooting using multi-meters. Inspect all electrical components to find defects before mount/install. Test the panels and adjust based on the results.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with all company policies, procedures, and standards for quality.
  • Operate standard electrical assembly tools and basic shop equipment.
  • Ensure electrical build compliance with NEC, UL, and CE standards.
  • Assist with packing/shipping/receiving and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Record job number and time activity through computer stations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Have a minimum 2-5 years of experience in the assembly of automated equipment, and electrical panel building, OR a recent graduate of a related post-secondary diploma (Electrical technician, Electro-Mechanical technician, Industrial automation, etc.)
  • Supply own basic hand tools (wrench set, wire strippers, ferrule crimper, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Be familiar with industrial automation, standard electrical assembly practices, and be trained in electrical safety procedures.
  • Be familiar with all the phases of panel building until the customer's handover.
  • Be a self-driven and ambitious personality with strong attention to detail.
  • Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Being familiar with VFDs, PLCs, and DC drives design and start-up work is a plus, but not required. Understanding of standard components functions and connection points including terminal blocks, ground blocks, fuses, circuit breakers, switches, connectors, relays, PLCs, thermal products, controllers, and other components used within control panels.
  • Be skilled in troubleshooting techniques and have a complete understanding of electrical testing equipment.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Be dedicated and available to put in extra effort when project schedules and customer needs require it, such as overtime on short notice.
  • Communicate part needs with Panel Shop Supervisor/Designer to ensure outages are avoided.
  • Communicate with engineering staff regarding build issues and timelines. Discuss errors in diagrams or panels with a supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems. Communicates appropriate issues with Electrical Team immediately.
  • Coordinate, interact and work collaboratively with other team members, vendors, and the client at site.
  • Be able to work independently and cooperatively with others with some supervision.
  • Possess basic PC experience including Outlook, Word, Excel, Chrome, and AutoCAD. Be able to print drawings.
  • *Allen Bradley PLC IO hardware install/wiring familiarity is an asset.
  • *Electrical license 309A/442 is considered an asset but not a requirement.
  • *Experience with Underwriters Laboratory and UL 508A industrial panel building experience is a plus.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review contract documentation, engineering design (drawings and calculations), technical documents, and schedules
  • Familiar with industrial electrical distribution and control systems
  • Knowledge of technical writing (client reports, equipment specifications, construction specifications)
  • Capable of reviewing and providing comments on electrical detailed design drawings such as schematics (protection & control, DC elementary, etc.)
  • Knowledge of auxiliary systems layouts (equipment, cabling, cable tray, grounding, etc.)
  • Knowledge of single and three-line diagrams
  • Knowledge of interconnection wiring diagrams (equipment and panel wiring)
  • Knowledge of communication block diagrams
  • Experience with electrical design utilizing Solidworks Electrical and AutoCAD tools
  • Prepare calculations for sizing/selection of commonly used power and control systems (electrical load calculations, cabling, etc.)
  • Resolve design issues at site and support site commissioning work if required
  • Co-ordinate, interact, and work collaboratively with other team members, vendors, and the client on-site

  • Have basic knowledge of construction methods and installation details related to electrical equipment and with codes and standards: CuL, OESC, CSA, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, IEEE Standards
