Meet the Team

Dave is Chairman of the Board of Descon which he co-founded in 1993. He is an Electrical Engineer with over 36 years of experience in packaging line optimization and design. In addition to providing technical direction to the company as required, his focus is providing key mentoring and performance development of the senior executive team.

Geoff, a Director and Board member, co-founded Descon alongside Dave Farquhar in 1993. He has over 40 years of experience in the Beverage Industry and has extensive knowledge in mechanical installations, mechanical commissioning of packaging lines, and equipment troubleshooting. He has a background in Mechanical Engineering and, over the years, has provided leadership, support, and mentoring to our On-Site Installation Team, Site Service Technicians, and In-House Technicians and Designers.

Steve has been with Descon for over 24 years and during this time has held many positions including VP of Business Unit, Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Sales. Holding a Business Management degree, today he is responsible for overall business strategy development, ensuring company-wide alignment, and building a high-performing team.

Jeff has over 24 years of experience integrating high-speed container handling systems in the Food and Beverage Industry with a focus on new technologies and continuous improvement. He is an Electrical Engineering Technologist and has held many positions at Descon including VP of Applications Engineering, VP of Product Development, Applications Group Manager, and Electrical Engineering Manager. Today as the COO, he is responsible for the overall technical and operational aspects of the company and the creation of innovative solutions.

Scott is the VP of Corporate Development at Descon and joined the senior management team in 2014. He is an Electrical Engineer with over 35 years of experience in industrial installations and project management. Today he is responsible for site project implementation, contract negotiation, and strategic planning.

Jamie has over 23 years of combined experience in the automation and beverage industry. He has a background in Mechanical Engineering and has held many positions at Descon including Director of Projects, Project Manager, and Mechanical Engineering Manager. Today as the Director of Applications Engineering he is responsible for providing leadership, defining project scope, overseeing specialty applications, and driving projects forward to Engineering and Manufacturing.

Charles has over 35 years of experience as an automation professional in various industries such as packaging, assembly, automotive, and metal processing. He is an Industrial Engineering Technologist and as the Director of Engineering at Descon, he provides leadership and support to the Mechanical and Electrical / Controls Engineering teams.

David is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Descon. He joined the sales team in 2015 and has a robotic and industrial engineering background. David's career has been focused on managing project execution on-site, and he brings over 20 years of experience as a Sales Engineer in conveyance engineering, primarily in the food and beverage industry. Now, David is responsible for leading the sales and marketing team in implementing Descon's strategic plan to grow the client and partner base and revenue in North America.

Matthew has over 12 years of experience as a HR professional in various industries such as oil and gas, construction, and manufacturing industries. Holding a degree in Human Resource Management, at Descon he is responsible for all business activities pertaining to HR & Safety while providing strategic advice and direction to Senior Leadership for the development and implementation of all HR programs.
