Regional Sales Engineer

Due to sustained growth, we are currently looking for a Regional Sales Engineer to join our team! This position is a key role in our company that enjoys job autonomy and flexible work capabilities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain a sales network of Beverage and liquid food clients in the South-West United States.  Includes identifying target markets and clients; maintaining and growing customer contact lists; organization of customer org charts and key contacts. 
  • Drive sales activities and the acquisition of new business; document current and future project leads and a reliable follow-up method. Maintain direct contact with an agreed client list.  Keep records and be prepared to review weekly/monthly prospect leads with the Sales team. 
  • Provide effective and timely responses to customer requests and queries for technical information, pricing, delivery, and service. 
  • Manage and grow customer relationships to increase short and long-term revenue and profit. 
  • Provide technical assistance and explanation to customers and internal departments on solution concept details. 
  • Work in partnership with various operations departments throughout Descon to provide guidance and input on customer requirements and solution concepts. Create, negotiate and close sales agreements 
  • Be available by email/phone during evenings and weekends to support current sales activity and relationship development. 
  • Attend quarterly sales meetings with management and attend relevant packaging shows (PMMI). 

 

Requirements:

  • Expertise in the beverage or food packaging industry in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Estimating, Equipment Sourcing, Sales, and Design would be a significant asset.  
  • 5 or more years’ experience working in an industrial/engineering/automation industry would be an asset. 
  • Ability to view, read PDF versions of plant layouts in AutoCAD is required.  
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills who can sell integrated conveyor & equipment solutions. 
  • Effective time management skills to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the USA and Canada.  
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable drivers abstract.
