DESCON Conveyor Systems (Newmarket, ON) is an industry leader in the design, manufacture and installation of high-speed conveyor systems and equipment to the Beverage & Food industry. We are always looking for candidates that are ideally suited for the following positions:

FIELD SERVICE/ START-UP TECHNICIAN
This highly analytical individual will have a proven track record for problem solving and general start-up of complex packaging lines and equipment. The necessity to see a project through to completion and the ability to work independently is an absolute must. A strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC’s and programming, motor control and general field devices is required. Mechanical aptitude would be considered an asset. Travel 50-70% annually is required.

PROJECT ENGINEER / PROJECT DRAFTSMAN
Reporting to both sales and engineering, the successful candidate will use his/her expert knowledge of AutoCad in all its functionality. Responsibilities include: development of plant layout proposal drawings; on-site verification of dimensions and detail; maintenance and ongoing development of project related drawings; development of drawing standards and tools (VBA/LISP programming); maintenance of drawing libraries; technical assistance to the Engineering Dept. Related industry experience would be considered an asset. Some travel is required.

Sr. CONTROLS ENGINEER
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-years experience in the startup and commissioning of automated equipment, electrical control systems, Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming, DeviceNet, ControlNet and Ethernet communication networks. Expert knowledge of variable frequency drives, distributed I/O systems, digital and analog circuits and communication networks is required. Proficiency in using AutoCad, strong analytical and communication skills would be considered definite assets. Travel 30-35% annually is required.

Sr. MECHANICAL DESIGNER/ ENGINEER
Responsible for the mechanical design, fit and functionality of new conveyor systems and related packaging machinery. Position involves the generation of mechanical detail/assembly drawings; project management; liaison with shop personnel; and contribution to the design of new products. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-years related experience, an exceptional working knowledge of AutoCad, and the ability to think conceptually. Experience in the beverage packaging or machinery design fields would be definite assets.

CONVEYOR FABRICATORS/ INSTALLERS
Required personnel must have a solid mechanical background, proficiency using all hand tools and work well in a team environment. Responsibilities include: custom stainless/mild steel conveyor assembly and parts manufacturing; interpretation of technical drawings; and a willingness to travel onsite for mechanical installations/service. Experience with TIG and electric arc welding, lathes, milling machines and supervising onsite sub-contractors would be definite assets. Personal tools are required. Travel 20-30% annually.
